Dock Tune

We will come down to your boat and do a rough tune on your boat. This includes the following services:

• Center the mast
• Lubricate turnbuckles
• Inspect rigging
• Adjust rig tension

This is a good first step in properly tuning your boat, and is often the only tuning a cruising boat will need. The process will take about an hour, and you are welcome to join us at the boat while we work. We will provide you with written documentation of the rig tensions and detailed notes with observations or suggestions for improving the rigging on your boat.

On-The-Water Tune

To properly optimize the tuning on your boat, we will first do a dock tune on your boat, then we will take the boat out with you in 8-15 knots of breeze. While on the water, we will:

• Fine tune the rig tension
• Check the rake and helm balance
• Check the mast bend, fore and aft and sideways
• Adjust the headsail lead positions

This process will take about two hours, and requires that you join us for at least the on-the-water tuning. While on the water, we can also take photos of your current sail inventory to analyze the sails using North Sails' proprietary Sail Scan software.
